Representations Of Memory

A series of work that explores the concept of memory and photography, subconsciously engaging with the viewer to create ‘memory triggers’. Together with the use of familiar location and left objects the work allows the viewer to engage on a level that allows them to visually place oneself within a photograph or to re-visit a past experience. The work also draws on the idea of our human presence and how we place ourselves within the world in relation to the photographic image.

Taken on large format and printed large scale the work allows the viewer to become involved in each separate photograph. Whilst exhibiting the work it was also accompanied by sound by use of headphones, for example; waves crashing or birds tweeting.
